[So Will probably should have done this earlier, but he had a busy first half of the month and like hell was he making any calls or texts or anything else while on vacation without damn good reason. After he's back and has had some time to settle into the ordinary routine once again, and after checking in who and where he needed to check in, he comes back around to this. If Krei looks at the clock (if he even notices), he'll realize that Will's calling at roughly the same time they'd met in that bar, like some weirdo who'd taken a glance at his watch and filed that information away forever and ever. As much as he prefers text, when it comes to people who don't know him very well, that's not always taken in the best of lights. Ten minutes of waffling on this decision happen, he asks the dog for advice about it all only to lose his second Pop-Tart to said dog, and he finally calls. If this guy's one of the types who goes back over the information around, he might have caught the announcement about having an imPort-Police Liaison with a certain face, certain name attached. Will hopes he's not the type to go back over months and months, almost a year or more with a fine-toothed comb, because then things get tricky.

[Krei might look back further than a few entries if there's something to gain from it. Currently, he doesn't feel any need to. Researching the dangerous people is a priority, and Will isn't one of those people.

He answers after a pause (what should I say? Should I feign ignorance?), and he sounds confident despite his initial hesitation.]

Will Graham. Nice of you to call. Convenient, too; if I'd remained sitting at my laptop any longer, I may never have escaped.

[There's the sound of him settling down somewhere more comfortable than his desk.]

[Krei mightn't make any hesitation known, which is fine since Will can fill that void for him. He's silent a few seconds after when another person would have already spoken up, somewhat stunned, though his voice is steady when he finally does use it. He's not sure if it's better or worse to have saved him from his laptop. Some people are really into them, same as Will's really into his fishing.]

How long's it been since you figured out who I was?

[This isn't an accusation, isn't something Will's taken to poorly. No, no, Will had connected the dots the moment he stumbled across this guy's voice on the Network. If Krei essentially did the same thing, well...

He could put in a weekend bar hop, most likely. Impressive individuals should be looked into!]

'Figured out' is a bit of an overstatement. I noticed - entirely by chance - not long after our first game. I'd known of a Will Graham, but I hadn't a face or voice to put to the name; you seem to favor text.

[It would've been a little hypocritical for Will to be upset. Krei's glad he's a reasonable man, because that would have been a hugely uncomfortable conversation.]

Shame I didn't do something like notice speech patterns or link other such subtler clues. I would have enjoyed bragging about that.

[Reasonable enough, when he's not sick. One of the most troubling bits of his history was announced (and subsequently followed up by an admittance of his innocence) as soon as Freddie Lounds got off the Port, so that's definitely helped with any hypocrisy he might have developed about others who kicked back at the end of the day and took part in Network surfing. However Krei noticed him, it's still impressive, considering many seem content to roll in ignorance when so much is right there if they'd just take the time to investigate.]

In your favor, I don't always talk the same way I do verbally when I text. [Sorry to take away his bragging stand, but if he can't brag, at least he can have some reassurance that it might not have been entirely possible, no one could expect him to pinpoint the two of them?] And I was out of town this last weekend, or I'd have gone by that bar, but...thought it best to at least do some sort of proper introduction instead of just popping up.

Oh, I wouldn't have minded either way. I'm a bit of a low-maintenance individual.

[Where relationships are concerned, anyway. Will could have shown up on his doorstep and he would have invited him inside for tea.]

[Don't count that out just yet, who doesn't want a scruffy dog-man on their doorstep without warning? That's a low-maintenance relationship, right?]

I was gonna make the trip this weekend, but I can do both. Used to live in De Chima, too, in the government housing. Miss the city [he misses Virginia, actually] but not the...roommates, if you know what I mean.

[Privacy is awesome. Not being at risk for having some absolute lunatic or worse slotted in with him is also awesome.]

I live with a fifteen year old, one that doesn't appear to know basic etiquette, and my other housemate periodically gives me sort of... 'I don't like you' looks. Very unnerving. I know what you mean.

[At least he has Xanatos. Sort of.]

I intend to move to individual housing in June, if I'm able.

[At least they're not vampires. Though, arguably, teenagers could be considered their own sort of vampire. Things not to say out loud, that. He's not even going to ask his house number, Krei does not need to know the history.]

Why wouldn't you be able?

[Money or not living in the same sort of "luxury" as one was accustomed to, yeah, Will gets that. But there's also trend with imPorts having people they know being pulled in, too, and if Krei lives with one of those he might not want to move. Bonus if the person in question wouldn't want to move, play roommate, or if the relationship is complicated. Will knew he couldn't move to the middle of nowhere and live with Abigail. People would be stupid about it. It would bother her, which would bother him. But damned if he didn't want to anyway.]

I would have to ask for individual housing, and there's always the chance that won't be obliged.

[Slightly phrased as a question. He's never actually tried, so he doesn't know. He's slowly - very slowly warming up to the government, but they might be better in this regard than he's giving them credit for.]

Are...you not Registered?

[He draws out that are long enough to give away he knows some could consider that a personal question but he's asking anyway. Sort of important, regardless of how anyone might want to keep that to chest. Or throw it out at every turn.]

Oh, no. I am. I take it they're fairly open to proving alternate housing options to registered imPorts, then?

[Krei couldn't care less about Will knowing, and his tone makes that known. He's always been fairly open (with people he likes, anyway).]

They'd be more inclined to offer assistance if you ran into obstacles.

[He knows that could sound bad, but someone of wealth and taste surely understands reward his interests that comply? Providing incentives for the uncooperative to follow in those steps? Maybe, maybe not, but he should probably clarify that's a bit more than just someone who's around the block a time or two.]

I work with Internal Affairs. They made me the liaison between our imPort population and the authorities. So if you run into any problems being Registered doesn't fix, you can send me a message.

[...honestly, that's an offer he'd give most any imPort, Registered or not. Sure, he can handle the occasional conversation about a questionable individual or the newest outbreak of infectious disease, but what good is he if he doesn't actually help out in lasting ways? That's not the sort of "cop" he's ever been.

Legal action may not be needed, but keeping him in custody somewhere safe is another story. Until we can fix whatever's going on, we have to consider him a danger. Unless you believe otherwise?
